Hip and Knee Specialist, Andrew Kay, M.D., of Ortho Rhode Island has joined the South County Health Medical Staff where he will complement the team of orthopedic experts at South County Hospital’s Center for Advanced Orthopedic Surgery.
Dr. Kay is an expert in the most advanced Mako robotic arm-assisted technology offered only at South County Hospital. He is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon with a focus on total hip replacement, total knee replacement, and partial knee replacement.
He is an expert in direct anterior hip replacement, as well as minimally invasive, robotic-assisted, complex, and revision hip and knee replacement procedures.
Dr. Kay earned his medical degree at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA and completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at Houston Methodist Hospital. He also received training in Adult Reconstruction (Total Joint) by completing a Fellowship at the Rothman Orthopaedic Institute.
Dr. Kay understands the challenges that patients face when conditions of the knees and hips effect their quality of life. He treats every patient as an individual to ensure their medical and personal needs are met with the best possible outcomes. He enjoys the sense of accomplishment he feels as an expert surgeon after seeing his patients’ lives changed by a successful hip or knee replacement.
He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
