The University of Rhode Island will have home court advantage at the Ryan Center, and they’ll have the support of South County Health as the “Official Healthcare Provider of URI Athletics.”
The basketball ‘hardwoods’ will be known as the South County Health Court at the Thomas M. Ryan Center, thanks to an extended corporate partnership between South County Health and LEARFIELD's Rhody Sports Properties. The partnership was announced on Wednesday, October 6, 2021.
South County Health's title of “Official Healthcare Provider of URI Athletics” assumes an additional designation as “Court Naming Partner,” effective immediately. The new deal is a four-year partnership.
“We are honored to be the official healthcare provider of URI Athletics,” said Aaron Robinson, CEO of South County Health. "As corporate partners, we bring the best in innovation, technology, and quality to our patients and to our community. There has never been a greater time to showcase the best in sportsmanship and community as we welcome a bright future.”
Complementing the court naming rights, South County Health will receive brand exposure during the football and basketball seasons through an assortment of media including digital displays, social media presence, radio broadcasts, and in-arena logo display that will be seen by thousands of viewers during TV broadcasts of the games.
“We are grateful to work with an incredible group of corporate partners, and we’re elated that South County Health will elevate their involvement with us and assume court naming rights at the Ryan Center,” said URI Director of Athletics Thorr Bjorn.
