SCH physicians make RI Monthly 2017 'Top Docs' list

Nine physicians from South County Hospital (SCH), a part of South County Health, were named to Rhode Island Monthly’s 2017 list of Top Docs. The Top Docs list is published annually by Rhode Island Monthly magazine and highlights physicians from across the state. The following physicians on the medical staff at SCH were named::

• Deus J. C. Cielo, MD – Neurosurgery
• Robert Legare, MD – Hematology/Oncology
• Edward W. Martin, MD – Palliative Care
• Russell A Settipane, MD – Allergy/Immunology
• Timothy Shafman, MD – Radiation Oncology
• Wendy R. Silversmith, MD – Rheumatology
• Prabhakar R Tipirneni, MD – Otolaryngology
• Aaron Weisbord, MD – Cardiology 

Thousands of Rhode Island licensed physicians were sent a survey and asked to name the specialist they would choose if a family member or friend had a medical problem. The names that appeared most frequently make up the Top Doc list of the state’s finest doctors.
