This recognition highlights Debbie’s outstanding commitment to patient care, as exemplified by her recent work with a patient who underwent bilateral total knee arthroplasties.
Pamela Malafronte, a patient at South County Health, underwent the challenging procedure of having both knees replaced simultaneously—a rare and demanding surgery. Despite the difficulties, Pamela’s journey to recovery was significantly uplifted by the compassionate and expert care she received from Debbie Fagan.
Debbie began working with Pamela the day after her surgery, and with what Pamela describes as “a reassuring smile and unwavering support,” Debbie guided Pamela through the initial stages of her rehabilitation. Over the course of three days, Debbie's dedication to helping Pamela regain her strength and mobility was evident. From assisting her with daily exercises to personally helping her into the car upon discharge.
Pamela expressed deep gratitude for Debbie's care, describing her as a "physical therapy angel." She shared how Debbie’s encouragement and precise instructions have continued to resonate with her in her daily life. “I hear her words continually with every move I make, telling me exactly how to move and take steps in my daily life. I could not have been any luckier than to have Debbie assigned to me. I told her daily she was like a physical therapy angel sent to me, and I appreciated her constant care and compassion.”
During the ceremony, Anitra Galmore, DNP, MS, NEA-BC, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Nursing Officer presented the award, saying "Your exceptional dedication and collaborative spirit are making a difference in the lives of patients. We are grateful to have you as part of the team and appreciate that the values you display are central to what excellence means to us at South County Health."

Debbie Fagan’s ability to provide not just physical support, but emotional reassurance during a critical time in her patient’s recovery, truly exemplifies the spirit of this award.
