South County Health Administration, Providers, and Leadership Provide Testimony to RI Senate Health and Human Services Committee
On Tuesday, March 19th, South County Health Administration, Providers, and members of the Leadership Team provided powerful testimony to the RI Senate Health and Human Services Committee in support of Senator V. Susan Sosnowski’s and Senate leaders’ Bill for the Rhode Island Office of the Health Insurance Commissioner Dual Mandate - 2024-S 2722 aimed at:
- Achieving reimbursement rates of Massachusetts and Connecticut for Rhode Island’s doctors, advanced practice providers, and hospitals;
- Ensuring the adequacy of Rhode Island’s healthcare workforce and sustainability of Rhode Island’s hospitals; and
- Improving the accessibility, quality, and equity of Rhode Island’s entire healthcare delivery system.
Led by Joseph Matthews, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Aaron Robinson, President and CEO, South County Health’s Administration, Medical Staff, and Leadership Team spent hours at the RI State House advocating for this key piece of legislation on behalf of our community and staff.
Specially, we’d like to recognize and thank Drs. Kevin Charpentier, Daniel Fass, Joseph Brady, and James Carlsten, as well as Elizabeth Hart, Tory Groves, and Andrew Sharpe, for their heartfelt testimonies. These providers and staff, embodying our core values of Integrity, Caring, Respect, Excellence, Partnership, and Stewardship, represented South County Health with utmost distinction, and their testimony surely left a lasting impact on Committee legislators. We thank them for their service and commitment to our patients’ and staff’s interests.
