Our mission of being Rhode Island’s Most Trusted Health Partner is grounded in delivering high-quality, accessible, and compassionate healthcare. Equally vital to this mission is our commitment to transparency, active listening, and fostering trust with the community we are honored to serve. South County Health Administration is actively engaged to ensure we remain aligned with the needs and concerns of our community and staff while safeguarding a sustainable and high-quality health system.
To further build and maintain trust as we navigate healthcare in Rhode Island together, administration has implemented and engaged with various stakeholders (community members, staff, providers, volunteers, and donors) on several initiatives over the past few months designed to connect with and hear directly from those stakeholders. A brief summary of those initiatives includes:
Community Forums
South County Health recently hosted two community forums on September 16 and October 30 featuring live Q&As to address questions about healthcare access, service enhancements, and the challenges facing the healthcare industry. These forums allowed community members the opportunity to ask questions directly to members of South County Health’s Administration and Board of Trustees. A few key takeaways include updates on quality, and sustainability:
Elected Officials Listening Sessions
In September and October, South County Health hosted two private listening sessions with local and state elected officials that included employed South County Medical Group providers and members of our medical staff.
Major Donors Q&A Session
Recognizing the invaluable role of our donors, South County Health has met with major donors recently in a live Q&A format to hear directly from them, and to keep them informed about our initiatives and strategic goals.
Service Line Listening Sessions with Employed Providers
Open communication and collaboration with staff and providers are critical to our success, and we are committed to fostering a culture where all voices are heard and respected. Recently, listening sessions occurred with various providers and practices with members of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to hear directly from them on operational improvement opportunities designed to simplify scheduling, improve access for our patients, and enhance the experience for both patients and staff.
Volunteer and All Staff Q&A Sessions
South County Health will be holding two separate Q&A listening sessions in early December with our volunteers and staff, allowing them the opportunity to hear directly from administration on any questions they may have.
CEO Updates to Staff
Monthly video series from the CEO that provides an opportunity for staff to get direct answers to questions that they have submitted about what matters most to them. Recent topics/questions answered include: partnerships and mergers, internal communications, organizational investments and prioritization, staff recruitment, parking, enhanced rounding/listening sessions, patient volumes and length of appointment times, and what is on the horizon for 2025.
Rounding
South County Health leadership conducts regular rounding to connect with staff across various departments. This hands-on approach allows leadership to hear frontline concerns, understand operational challenges, and reinforce our commitment to teamwork and quality care.
Chat with the Chiefs Listening Sessions
In addition to our monthly rounding, President and CEO, Aaron Robinson, along with members of the Executive Leadership Team will have monthly listening sessions for staff to participate in at the hospital campus featuring free coffee, and free lunch at our offsite Medical and Wellness Centers.
