South County Health has named Anitra L. Galmore, RN, BSN, MS, NEA-BC, as Vice President & Chief Nursing Officer/Chief Operating Officer. She joined the health system on April 6.
In this capacity, Anitra will oversee and lead South County Health system in its continuing efforts to improve patient care and operational efficiencies.
Prior to joining South County Health, Anitra was Vice President of Nursing/CNO at SSM Health St. Joseph and Wentzville Hospitals in St. Charles, MO. The system is made up of two hospitals, including a 410-bed trauma center that offers highly-specialized care for critically ill patients including cardiac catheterizations, obstetrics, and oncology; three urgent care centers; three outpatient centers; a joint venture/ambulatory surgery center; and multiple physician offices.
During her seven years of employment with SSM Health, Anitra influenced improved nursing engagement scores and significantly decreased staff turnover. Under her leadership, the organization improved efficiencies through workforce management, and improved patient flow/throughput while leading nursing staff to realize a reduction in catheter associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI).
Anitra has held additional executive leadership positions as Administrative Director of Inpatient Surgical Services & Obstetrics and Clinical Director of Women’s Services at SSM Health DePaul Health Center.
She earned a Bachelor of Nursing from Webster University and a Master’s in Health Administration from Lindenwold University. She holds Advanced Nurse Executive Certification and Bronze and Silver Certifications in Lean Methodology.
Anitra is currently enrolled in the Doctoral program at St. Louis University.
