Three Simple Words: Are You Okay?

South County Health is proud to announce Amanda Whaley, Medical Assistant, as the latest recipient of the esteemed Petal Award. This recognition highlights Amanda's unwavering commitment to providing outstanding patient care, as evidenced by the heartfelt nomination from one of her patients, Stephanie Bishara.

A Patient’s Gratitude: Stephanie’s Story

Stephanie is a patient at South County Health's Center for Women's Health. She recently underwent a procedure with Dr. Steven Schneider. Her experience not only reflected the quality of care from Dr. Schneider but also showcased the important role that Medical Assistant Amanda Whaley played in her care. Stephanie shared her appreciation for Amanda, stating:

"I had a procedure done with Dr. Schneider in Wakefield, and was quite nervous about the appointment, which I expressed to the woman who took me back to the exam room. She was delightful, attentive, and calm. After the visit, I heard my name as I walked down the hallway. She came around the corner to ask me three simple words that meant so much, 'Are you okay?' Her genuine care and concern felt reassuring and uplifting. In this time when people are too hurried or distracted, Amanda stopped what she was doing to find me and ask about me."

Stephanie’s heartfelt acknowledgment of Amanda's compassion underscores the lasting impact that simple, meaningful acts of care can have on patients.

The Petal Award Ceremony: A Celebration of Compassionate Care
