DAISY Award

The DAISY Award is an international program that rewards and celebrates the extraordinary clinical skill and compassionate care given by nurses every day. South County Hospital is happy to be a DAISY Award Partner, recognizing one of our nurses with this special honor quarterly.

Each DAISY Award Honoree will be recognized at a public ceremony in her/his unit and will receive: a beautiful certificate, a DAISY Award pin, and a hand-carved stone sculpture entitled A Healer’s Touch.

Petal Award?

The Petal Award is a program recently created by the South County Health Nursing Shared Governance committee as a compliment to the DAISY award. The Petal Award recognizes Patient Care Technicians (PCT) that go above and beyond their line of duty. Nurses wouldn’t be unable to perform their roles without the help of dedicated and talented Patient Care Technicians. After all, a DAISY is not a flower without its PETALs.

How to Nominate a Nurse or PCT?

To nominate a nurse or patient care technician for one of these awards, please fill out and submit the form on our Nominate a Caregiver page. Should the nurse you nominate be chosen, you will be contacted.
