Outpatient Pulmonary Practice Update - March 3
- South County Health's outpatient pulmonary practice will close effective June 2, 2025, following Dr. Russo-Magno's departure from this practice to take on another role.
- Dr. Russo-Magno has informed South County Health (SCH) of her decision to no longer practice outpatient pulmonary medicine as of May 31, and will be transitioning to a full-time role at a long-term acute care facility within a state hospital system.
- Unfortunately, SCH is therefore no longer able to accept new patients to our outpatient pulmonary practice.
- Pulmonary services at SCH are not being eliminated entirely. While the outpatient practice is closing, pulmonary emergency and inpatient services will continue to be available at South County Hospital, and our expectations are that the Cardiopulmonary Rehab Program and Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) remains fully available to patients.
- If you are in need of outpatient services, we encourage you to consider one of these pulmonary practices in the region that may be taking new referrals. The ability of a practice to accept patients changes on a daily basis, particularly in Rhode Island, and South County Health makes no assurances that these practices will be accepting patients at the time a patient calls.
