Transportation to Medical Appointments

Due to COVID, drivers and passengers are required to wear FDA-approved facemasks on Wave Van and in South County Health facilities.

South County Hospital offers free transportation via our Wave Van to patients needing access to the Lab, Diagnostic Imaging, Pre-Admission Testing, Cardiopulmonary Services, and other medical appointments.

Transportation services are available 7a.m. to 3:30p.m., Monday through Friday, for residents of Charlestown, Narragansett, North Kingstown, South Kingstown and for Block Island residents (from the ferry landing in the Port of Galilee).  Some parts of Charlestown and North Kingstown are not covered by this service; call to inquire. 

Wave Van transportation is available for the following services in Wakefield only:

• Anti-coagulation management
• Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation
• Center for Women's Health
• Diagnostic Imaging 
• Infusion Therapy
• Laboratory Services
• Pre-admission Testing
• Radiation Therapy
• Oncology/Hematology (Cancer Center) 
• Outpatient procedures (the Wave Program does not take individuals home following outpatient procedures that require sedation)
• Women's Imaging Center
• Wound Care Center
