SCH Awarded $250,000 Grant by Champlin Foundation

Funds Purchased Smart Beds Designed for Improved Patient Safety and Comfort

South County Health was recently awarded a $250,000 grant from The Champlin Foundation. This grant represents another milestone in the 40-plus year relationship between South County Health and The Champlin Foundation. Since 1980, The Champlin Foundation has awarded over $5 million to South County Health.

As part of South County Health’s commitment to quality and innovation, these funds were used to replace outdated beds with Smart Beds designed to deliver superior pressure redistribution for optimal wound prevention and healing.

"We’re thrilled to be able to partner with The Champlin Foundation on this important project. With this grant, we are able to take another step in our ongoing journey to meet the changing healthcare needs of our community," says Christine Foisy, Chief Philanthropy Officer, South County Health.

In addition to being optimized for wound prevention and healing, the Centrella Smart+ Beds that South County Health has installed include technology to enhance patient care. The beds include a safety system that allows clinicians and caregivers to monitor bed safety status at a glance.
